Timothy P. Shea

Timothy P. Shea,  66, a retired  foreman for the City of Malden DPW,  died Thursday, July 19,  at his home in Malden.  Tim was born in Charlestown, MA, and moved to Malden at an early age.   In August of 1964, Tim married his sweetheart, Geraldine Kearney, and the two settled down in Malden to raise their family.   Tim and Geraldine shared almost 20 years together until Geraldine's sudden passing in 1982. 

Tim began working for the City of Malden in 1959.  He joined the DPW full time in 1961, and worked for the city for a total of 42 years, retiring as foreman six years ago. 

Tim was an active lifetime member of the Malden Elks, and had served as Esteemed Leading Knight.   He was also a lifetime member of the Irish American in Malden.  Tim loved his Boston sports teams, Including the Red Sox,  and the old Boston Braves, even after they left Boston.

He is survived by  his children, Daniel T. Shea  of Malden, Erin M. Olson  of Dracut,Kellie Meehan  of Malden, Colleen Shea  of Malden, , and  Jane Kaeneman  of Pembroke, his brother, Francis L. Shea  of S. Middleboro, his sisters Helen Comosa  of Georgetown, MA, and Elinor F. Murphy  of Salem, NH.as well as eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine (Kearney), his parents,  Francis J. and Helen J. (Leahy)Shea, and  his brothers Kevin and  James Shea.

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden,  on Sunday, July 22nd,  from 4-8 PM

Timothy had always supported and wished for memorial contributions to be made to  St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105  1942 

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 23, 2007 at  9:00 A.M. at the funeral home and 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Hearts Church. Fr. Daniel J. Hickey of Sacred Hearts Church will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
