Andrew Paul Sibilio

 

Andrew Paul Sibilio, 53, a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away quietly on Tuesday, May third, after a courageous battle with cancer. Andrew was raised in Malden, graduating from Malden High with the class of 1970.  He was an all sport athlete in high school, and shortly after school he enlisted in the US Army, serving with the 7th Cavalry in Korea. He had attained the rank of Sgt in the Tank Corp of the Cavalry.   After returning from  overseas, Andy studied computer electronics and went to work for AT&T.  He worked for AT&T for many years testing computer equipment.  He later worked independently which allowed him to travel around the country and see the world.  Andy had a great love for sports, and had enjoyed ice skating and golfing.  He was also a long time member of the North End VFW Post 144.

He is survived by his parents, Rudolph N. and Bernice D. (Lubinger) Sibilio, his sister, Darleen F. MacPherson of Tewksbury, his nephew Michael and his niece Lindsay.

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Thursday, May, 5th from 4-8 PM

Contributions in Andy’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham MA 01701-9376 

Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Friday, May 6, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. follow by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 A.M.  in St. Joseph's Church. Rev. Richard T. Bakker of St. Joseph's Church will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, 175 Broadway, Malden.
