Anne Smith
Anne Smith, 55, of Malden, died Sunday, November 21, 2004 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. Anne was born and raised in Coom Dunmanway, County Cork, Ireland, one of fourteen children. At the age of 20, she came to the United States where she met and married Edison Smith. The two would settle in Malden and raise their family there. Anne was an avid gardener, and enjoyed tending to her flowers and shrubberies. She is survived by her husband, Edison Smith of Malden, her sons, Wayne and his wife Julie Smith of Walpole, and Gregory Smith of NM, her sister Shelia Lordan Cummings of Milton, her siblings John, Tim, David, Denis, Michael, Margaret, Sharon, and Jane, all of Ireland, James, Maureen and Catherine, all of England, and Billy of San Francisco. She is also survived by her granddaughter Madelyn Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Mary Lordan. Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Tuesday, November 23, from 5 - 8 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2004 from the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Hearts Parish, 297 Main Street, Malden. Father John F. Mulloy will be officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
