Carmine Dominic Sorrentino

 

     Carmine D.  Sorrentino, died early Friday morning May 11, 2007 at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, he was 53. Born on January 13, 1954, the son of Antoinette (Brienza) and the late Nunzio Sorrentino of Revere. Carmine was born in Malden and was educated in the Revere schools system. He was a graduate of the Northeast Regional Vocational School in Wakefield, Class of 1972.

     Carmine was a Master Electrician. He later worked for the MDC/ Mass Water Resource Authority as a Unit Supervisor at the Deer Island Plant in Winthrop, for twenty-five years until his illness. He was also a member of the State Union, NAGE for many years. Carmine had a strong work ethic and had the respect of his fellow worker.

     In his spare time Carmine enjoyed spending time with his family and playing golf. He was an avid Boston sports fan and loved camping. He spent many enjoyable nights around the camp fire at the Beach Rose RV Park in Salisbury, MA  Carmine had lived in Malden, for the last sixteen years and was previously from Revere.

     He is survived by his fiancée, Jo Ann DeSimone  of  Malden, his mother Antoinette Sorrentino of Revere, his step-children,  Christina DeSimone of Lynn, Robert J. DeSimone of Malden, his sisters,  Nancy Davis &  Linda Sorrentino both of Revere, his grandchildren, R.J.&  Kaylee DeSimone  of Malden,  Kendyl &  Nicholas La Conte  of Lynn. 

Visitation will be held at the Weir -MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home on Monday, May 14th.  from 4-8 PM.

     Carmine funeral will be held from the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Tues., May 15th. at  9:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church, 315 Main St., Malden at 11AM. Fr. Daniel J. Hickey of Sacred Hearts Church will be the celebrant.  Interment to follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.

      In lieu of flowers, donations in Carmine’s memory   maybe sent to: Head & Neck Cancer Fund, Mass General Hospital Cancer Center, 165 Cambridge St., Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114.
