Amelia Sparrow

Amelia "AJ" Sparrow (Jackson) an Everett resident for 40 years, passed away quietly at her home on May 4th.  Amelia was born and raised in Salem, one of eleven children. She graduated from Salem H.S. with the class of 1948.  After moving to Malden, she began working for a short time at the Burns and Towns Filter Co.  She then took employment with Transitron in Malden, where she first worked on the assembly line, and then in later years was an inspector.  She worked with Transitron for almost 10 years, when she then became a lab technician for the Poloriod Company in Cambridge.    She retired after  working for Poloriod for about  20 years.  Amelia enjoyed bowling, fishing, and walking her dog Ali.  She was an avid basketball, and football fan , but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. 

She is survived by sons, Loney R. Sparrow Jr. of Malden, Frank L. Sparrow  of Roxbury, and Dane B. Sparrow  of Everett,  her daughter Renee' M. Maxwell of Charlotte, NC, her sister Helen Murrell  of Cambridge, her brothers  Horatio Jackson of Newton, Howard Jackson of Lynn, as well as 6 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents,  George and Christalia (Richardson)  Jackson, her brothers Hubert, George, Charles, Ralph and Carl, and her sisters Elizabeth and Gloria. 

Funeral services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family.
