Richard Francis Summering
Richard F.
Summering, of Malden, formerly of Everett, died suddenly, Tuesday morning
February 13, 2007 at his home. Dick was born on April 21, 1924 in Boston and was
the son of the late Arthur & Kathleen (Fitzgerald) Summering, he was 82.
Dick was
raised and educated in the Dorchester. After his schooling he worked as a sales
clerk, and later joined the US Army to serve his country. He enlisted on May 6,
1944 and was discharged in June of 1946 as a Private. He received the EAME
Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal while
serving with the Army. After he was discharged he worked for the Monarch Food
Company, as a truck driver for many years, after his retirement he drove for the
Beacon Hill Limo Company. Dick was a longtime member of the Malden Moose and
former member of the VFW of Everett. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New
England Patriots fan.
He is
survived by his wife, Eleanor “Skipper” Ware of Malden. He was the father of two
daughters and two sons and Mr. & Mrs. Douglas Ware of Wilmington & Steven Ware
and his companion Judy Baralona. He was the grandfather of Maryann Ware of
Wilmington, and eight grandchildren.
