Josephine L. Swanson

 

Josephine L. (Mastrullo)  Swanson, 91, died Saturday, September 20, 2003 at the Blueberry  Hill Healthcare in Beverly, MA.  Josephine was born and educated in Boston. After her marriage to Nils G. Swanson  on March 14, 1942  they settled in Malden and started their family.  Josephine later worked for the Lewis Candy Co. of Malden for a number of years until its closing. She went on to work for the Malden Public School System,  as a cafeteria worker, until her retirement in 1977. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Malden for many years.  Mrs. Swanson had been living in Danvers, MA with her husband and was previously from Malden.

She is survived by her husband, Nils G. Swanson  of  Danvers, her son's George  M. Vietze of CA, Nils J. Swanson and his wife Joanne of  Danvers, MA, her brother,  Raymond Mastrullo of  Billerica also survived by  five grandchildren  and five  great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father Frank Mastrullo, and her mother Rose (Lambardi) Mastrullo and her son,  Charles  E. Swanson formerly of Malden & Texas.

Visitation will be held at the Weir- MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden,  on Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem St., Malden on  Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. Rev. William J. Minigan, Pastor of  St. Joseph's will be the celebrant.  Burial will be in  Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
