Beatrice Smith Taylor

Beatrice (Smith ) Taylor,  87, died Friday, April 2, 2004 at the Harborside Health Care in Wakefield, MA. Beatrice was born and educated in  Malden, graduating Malden High School with the class of 1935.  When she completed high school she went to work at Leopold Mall in Boston as an elevator operator. She then went to work for the Converse Rubber Company of Malden as a packer and was employed there for over twenty -five years until her retirement. She was a long time member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Malden and her favorite pastime  was ice skating.  Mrs. Taylor was a lifelong resident of Malden. MA. m .

She is survived by her son, Harry N. Taylor , Jr. of Malden, and her sisters; Ocie Smith of Malden and  Ruth Torres of Malden.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry  N. Taylor, Sr., her brother Major Smith, Jr., and her sister Queenie Smith.

She was born April 24, 1916 in Malden, MA the daughter of the late Major and Beatrice (Hargraves) Smith, Sr..      

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at the Weir MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home with Rev. Brenda Champney, Chaplain of the Beacon Hospice of Beverly officiating.  Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
