Phyllis
Teneriello
Phyllis (Scacchi) Teneriello, 92, died Friday morning, April 20,
2007 at Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett. Phyllis was born
in Lynn, on December 26, 1914, the daughter of the late Arduino
& Theresa Scacchi.
Phyllis was raised in the Malden and educated in the Malden
school system. After completing her schooling, she later met and
would marry her sweetheart, Joseph E. Teneriello. The couple was
married in Sacred Hearts Church, Malden in 1931 and stayed in
Malden and started a family. They spent the next forty-one
years together caring for their family until Joe’s passing in
1972. She was a life long resident of Malden.
Phyllis was fond of cooking, and once stated that she was making
round ravioli’s way before they even came out in the stores.
She also loved baking pies and cooking home made macaroni,
something she did every Sunday for all to enjoy. In her spare
time she enjoyed gambling and going to Wonderland Dog track and
Las Vegas. She also enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with
her family. Phyllis loved shopping and was one that never
passed up a good deal at the store.
She is survived by her son Joseph E. Teneriello Jr. and his
wife Corene of Dracut, Robert P. Teneriello and his wife Judy
of Malden, Peter M. Teneriello and Christine A. Teneriello both
of Malden, and her daughter-in-law Patricia Teneriello of
Malden, Howard Thompson a life long family friend of Boston.
Phyllis was the cherished grandmother of nine grandchildren,
twenty great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She was
preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Teneriello Sr., and
her son Ralph A. “Chickie” Teneriello Sr. and four brothers and
one sister.
Visitation
will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144
Salem St. Malden on Sunday, April 22, 2007 from 4-8 PM.
Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144
Salem St. Malden, on Monday April 23rd at 8 AM,
followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church,
770 Salem St., Malden at 9 AM. Burial will immediately follow
in the Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
