Joseph Louis Twyman

Joseph Louis Twyman, 80, a
printer longtime resident of Malden, died Sunday, February 04, 2007 at the
Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. Joseph was born and raised in Madison,
Virginia. After high school, he enlisted in the US Navy, and helped fight
during WWII. Just a few years later, Joe married his sweetheart, Mary
Delores "Dee" Straiter in upstate New York. It wasn’t too long before they
moved to the Boston area and settled in Malden. They shared 55 years together
raising their family.
John's main occupation was as
a printer for Container Corp in Medford. He worked for the company for over 34
years until his retirement 18 years ago. John was also a skilled carpenter, and
along with small side jobs, built a few houses including the one he and "Dee"
shared together. Joe was avid fisherman, and also quiet time reading. He was
the type of person who most enjoyed spending time at home working on the house
and sharing time with Dee. Mr. Twyman lived in Malden, Massachusetts for 40
years and was previously from Virginia.
He is survived by his wife,
Delores M (Straighter) of Malden, his children, Jerome C. Twyman of Malden,
Robert W. Twyman of Malden, Patricia Porter of VA, and Joseph Johnson of
Washington DC, his sisters, Juliae Dolfinger of D.C., and Mary E. Smith of
Malden, as well as 6 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Thomas L. and Josephine (Blakey) Twyman, , his son
Patrolman Gary L. Twyman, his sister Beatrice Gray, and his brother Harrison
Twyman.
Visitation will be held at the
Weir Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Thursday, February 8th,
from 4-8 PM

Funeral services will be held
Friday, February 9th, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home. Rev.
Thomas Williams will be officiating. Burial will be in the Puritan Lawn
Memorial Park in Peabody.
