Grace Marshall Otis

  

Grace Marshall Otis,  97, a former school teacher and  Senior Actuarial Clerk for  the State Division of  Insurance, for the Commonwealth of  Massachusetts,  died Tuesday, December 19, 2000 at Woodlawn Nursing and Rehabilitation in Everett, MA  Miss Otis was a  prominent  life long  resident of  Everett. She was educated in the Everett school system and later  a graduate of  Boston University in Boston. She taught school in the Boston area at one time.  She was a longtime member of the First United Parish of Everett for many years. She also was a member of the Boston Tea Party Chapter, Daughter of the American Revolution, American Bible Society, Paul Revere Chapter D.A.R. Miss Otis was also noted in the Book of  The Massachusetts Society of  Mayflower Descendants, Member of the New England Conservatory in Boston and  Boston University Alumni.

Miss Otis loved singing  and playing  different musical instruments. She had traveled  to Europe many times and through out the world. She continued  her travels abroad after her retirement. 

 She was preceded in death by her father Walter Otis, and her mother Ethel Rose.

 She was born April 12, 1903 in Boston, Massachusetts

 Visitation will be held at Weir - MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden  on Friday, December 30th.  from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM

Pastor George Hodgkins Jr. of  the First United Parish of  Everett, 460 Broadway, Everett will be officiating.  Funeral services will be held at  the funeral home on Saturday December 30 at 11 AM.    Burial will be in the  family plot  in the  Edson Cemetery in Lowell, MA
