     Blanche Ethel Upham

Blanche Ethel Upham,  85, a retired bookkeeper for Commercial Union Ins., where she worked until retiring at age 65 in 1980, died Friday, September 21, 2001 at Melrose Nursing Home in Melrose, Massachusetts.  Blanche was born and raised in Malden.  She was educated in the Malden School Systems, graduating from Malden High School.  She was a life long member of the Center United Methodist Church, and  a member of the Rebecca's Lodge for 65 years, as well as a past Treasurer for the lodge.  Blanche enjoyed knitting and crocheting.  She was also an avid bowler, and played in local leagues until recently.  Ms. Upham lived in Malden, Massachusetts for entire life.

She is survived by Virginia Stack (dear friend) of Lowell, MA.

She was preceded in death by her father Cyrus W. Upham, and her mother Annabelle MacKinnon.

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7 PM

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. at Puritan Lawn  Memorial Park. Rev. John C. Blair of Centre United Methodist Church will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Puritan Lawn  Memorial Park in Peabody.
