Eleanor Ida” Bonnie” Vozzella

 

   Eleanor I. (Thomas) Vozzella, of Revere died Saturday morning, June 17th. at  the Don Orione Home in East Boston, she was 79. Born on August 30, 1926 in Cambridge, MA she was the daughter of the late Louis and Ida (Silva) Thomas. 

   Bonnie’s life was raising her family and everything she did was for her family.  In the 1970's, Bonnie worked as an assembly worker at Sterling, Clarke, & Lurtin in Malden. 

   In addition to being an avid baker and reader, Bonnie had a passion for refurbishing antique furniture.  She loved to find old furniture and fix them up and refurnish it.  Bonnie also loved music, whether it was big band music or opera, she also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.  She would always be making clothes and curtains. Bonnie had lived in Revere, for ten years and was previously from the Cape and lived in Malden for thirty years.

   Bonnie is survived by her husband James M. Vozzella Sr. of sixty years., her son James M. Vozzella, Jr., her daughter-in-law Eileen Vozzella of Malden, her son Edward P. Vozzella Sr. of Florida, her daughter Linda J. Doucette, her son-in-law David J. Doucette of Billerica, her brother Michael Flanagan of Largo, FL, her grandson James M. Vozzella, III of Wilmington, her grandson Edward P. Vozzella, Jr. of  Malden, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Louis Thomas, her mother Ida Silva, her sister Hilda Sacco, her sister Irene Thomas, and her sister Joan Malo.

Contributions in Eleanor’s memory may be made to All Care Hospice, 16 City Hall Sq., Lynn, MA  01901.

Visitation will be held at  the Weir ~ MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden  on Monday from 4-8  PM.

   Funeral from the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem, Malden on Tuesday, June 20th. at   9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church, 770 Salem St., Malden at  10 AM.  Fr. William J. Minigan will the celebrant.   Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
