Obituary Notice

Barbara Edna Wescott

     Barbara E. Wescott, of Stoneham, formerly a life-long resident of Malden, died Friday, September 21, 2007 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham, she was 92.  Born on October 16, 1914 in Melrose, she was the daughter of the late J. Richmond and Bessie (Henneberry) Dean.  Barbara was raised  in Malden and was a graduate of  Malden High School with the Class of 1932.  She worked for several years for R.H. Sterns Co. of Boston, where  she managed the alterations dept.   She also volunteered hundreds of hours as a nurse’s aide at the Malden Hospital.  In 1981, Barbara married  Albert P. Wescott, and the couple shared  11 years of marriage together until Albert’s passing in 1992. 

     Barbara is survived by her cousins and their families, Ralph H. King and Richard N. Berry, both of Maine and formerly of Malden, Beverly A. Gilchrist of Saugus, Nichole,  Christine of Saugus, Cheri and Chantel May of CT. Jere King of Maine and Richard King of Boston and families. She is also survived by her  step-daughters and their families, Dorothy Lawing of Ashville, NC, Bette Thomas of England, and Laura Adams of Irving, TX.

Donations may be made in Barbara’s name to a charity of one's choice.

A memorial service for Barbara will take place on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at 2 PM in the Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
