Thomas M. Athridge

 

     Thomas M. Athridge, died suddenly at home, on Tuesday April 13, 2010 after a short illness, he was 49. Thomas was born in Medford and raised in Malden. He was educated in the Malden school system and was a graduate of the Northeast Metro Regional Vocational School in Wakefield, with the Class of 1978.

     On November 11, 1989 Tom married his sweetheart Nancy A. Nelder in Sacred Hearts Church in Malden. The couple remained in Malden and started a family and raised their children.  

     Tom worked as a truck driver for Costa Fruit Company of Charlestown and later with the Rauseo Fuel Company, and then Conoco-Phillips Fuel in East Boston, delivering fuel.  

     In his spare time Tom enjoyed following the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and camping with the family in New Hampshire.  He was a longtime member of the Eastside AA Club in Malden.

     Tom is survived by his wife Nancy A. (Nelder) Athridge of Wakefield. He was the father of Patrick J. & Erin L. Athridge both of Wakefield and Jennifer Mozuch and her husband Scott of Wilmington.  He was the son of Josephine A. (Spracklin) Athridge of Malden and the brother of Linda A. Langille of  N. Andover, Karen L. Graham of Malden and Michael F. Athridge of Medford. He was the cherished grandfather of Matthew, Patrick and Elizabeth Mozuch.

He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Athridge.

     Relatives & friends are invited to calling hours  at the Weir -Mac Cuish  Golden Rule Funeral Home on Friday,  April 16, 2010  from  4-8 PM. The family has requested contributions in Tom’s memory be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. / Mass Chapter,  330 Congress St. Suite 5, Boston, MA  02210.

    Toms funeral will be held from the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial in Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main St., Malden, at 10 AM.
