Barbara E. Babine, 84, died Monday, October 10, 2011
at her home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She
was born and educated in Malden. After graduating
high school in Everett she went to work for LFE in
Waltham. She then worked for Crimson Tech in
Cambridge for 30 years until her retirement. She
was a member of the Chelsea Baptist Church, past
commander of the Disabled American Veterans
Auxiliary, Everett 51A, a member of the Red Hat
Society, and was an officer in the 630 Club at
her residence on 630 Salem Street, Malden. Barbara was a
longtime resident of Malden, MA, and considered
Malden to be her home even after she moved to South
Carolina within the last few years.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith A. Cronin of
Myrtle Beach, SC, her brother, Donald Redmond of TN,
grandchildren, Darren S. Hebenton, Fairfield, PA,
Tod M. Hebenton, Colbert, GA, Stacy C. Cronin,
Fitchburg, MA, Kimberly D. Cronin, Fitchburg, MA,
great-grandchildren, her beloved, Abigail and Haley
Hebenton, Fairfield, PA, and Owen and Audrey
Hebenton, of Colbert, GA.
She was preceded in death by her son, James E.
Millette, and her sisters; Shirley Drew of FL, Jean
Hobart of Malden, and her brother, Robert Redmond of
Canton.
She was born February 28, 1927 in Malden, MA the
daughter of the late Martin and Hazel (Toothaker)
Redmond.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral
Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, MA on Friday,
October 21, 2011 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October
22, 2011, at the funeral home, at 10:00 AM.
Private burial to follow service.
