They raised two daughters Alice & Betty. The couple was married for over sixty-four years until Doris’s passing in July of 2009.

John was not one to stay at home. He started working for the former Maynard Moore Leather Industries in Stoneham; as an estimator for the next twenty-five years, until the business closed in the 1970’s.

John was an active member of the Forestdale Community Church for over sixty-five years.  He was a founding member of the Malden Emergency Centre and was a volunteer firefighter for the City of Malden for over thirty-years. John was known as a man that could repair anything and had every tool that he needed in his garage.

John is survived by his two daughters, Alice M. Casamento of Malden and Betty A. Bustin of Tewksbury, his siblings Donald Barnes of Hampton, NH, Pauline Robbins of Malden, his cherished grandchildren, John & Lorraine Casamento, Amy, Jason and Kevin Bustin.
