Thomas William  Callahan

Thomas William  Callahan, 59, a  lifelong resident of Malden, passed away on  Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the  Medford Extended Care Facility in Medford.

He was born May 1, 1952 in Malden, the son of Thomas F. and Arlene (McCready) Callahan. Tom was raised and educated in Malden.   After completing his education he joined the construction industry and became a member of Laborers Local 151.  He worked in the field for many years until an injury at work forced his early retirement.  Tom was a local football coach in Malden for many years, coaching the “Callahan Raiders”.  He loved the outdoors, and had a passion for horses, especially enjoy rodeo shows.  He was also very dedicated to his whole family, and was considered the Patriarch of the family.  

He is survived by his wife Nancy (Smith) of Malden, his children,  Shannon E. Callahan  of Malden, Katelyn N. Callahan of Malden, and  Thomas F. Callahan  of Malden, and his sisters,  Patricia  M. O'Rourke of Peabody, Debra J. Willcox of Malden, and  Janice M. Petrucci and husband Wayne of Lynnfield, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents,  Thomas F.  Callahan and Arlene Callahan-Sibley

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Thomas on Wed, Nov 30th, at St. Josephs Church, 770 Salem St, Malden at 9AM. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas's memory may be made to: Tommy's Team, 265 Forest Street, Malden, MA 02148
