Barbara Ann
Clarke
Barbara A. (MacMillan) (Walsh) Clarke of Medford, died suddenly
in her home on Thursday, December 10, 2009, she was 81. Born on
February 28, 1928 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late
Ross and Anna MacMillan. Barbara was raised and educated in
Dorchester and was a graduate of Dorchester High School. She
married her first husband, John F. Walsh and the couple began
their family in Roslindale. John passed unexpectedly after 25
years of marriage together. Barbara was blessed to find love
once again and married William S. Clarke. Barbara worked as a
medical secretary at the
Jewish
Memorial
Hospital &
Rehabilitation
Center in West Roxbury, MA but retired to enjoy her new
married life. William and Barbara were together for a little
over 20 years until William passing in July of 2002. Barbara
was a one time member of the Codman Square Club of Dorchester as
well as a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Parish in Malden.
Always a strong woman, Barbara was a breast cancer survivor.
Barbara is survived by her children, Thomas J. Walsh of Medford
and his fiancée, Julia Seavey, Rutheanne “Cookie” and her
husband, E.J. Diozzi of NH, Trudye W. and her husband Anthony
Serino of Westford, Gayle H. Clarke of Cape Cod, and the late
Jack Walsh and Pamela Clarke, her sister, Jean McGrath-Berry of
Bow, NH, her loving niece, Diane Swanson of Billerica, her
grandchildren, Melissa, Jonathan, and Lindsey Diozzi, Timothy,
Debbie, Melonie, Brittany, and Kristina Walsh, Anthony Serino,
Jr. Krista, Louis, and Michele Serino, Jennifer McLellan and her
great-grandchildren, Jordan and Brennan Walsh.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Barbara was preceded in
death by her children, Jack Walsh and Pamela Clarke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Paul’s Episcopal
Parish, 26 Washington Street, Malden, on Monday, December 14,
2009 at 10AM. Rev. John R. Clarke, Pastor of St. Paul's
Episcopal Parish will be presiding. Burial will follow in
Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
Visitation will be held in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral
Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Sunday, December 13, 2009,
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
