 Glenn William Connor

Glenn William Connor, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away Saturday, April 18th, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, surrounded by his loving family.  Glenn was born in Medford and was raised and educated in Malden.  After graduating from Malden High School, he joined the Merchant Marines.  He served throughout WWII and stayed on for a total of 20 years.  He retired from the Merchant Marines as Chief Engineer.  Glenn then went to work for INA insurance, which eventually merged with Cigna Insurance.  He worked in their loss control department for 25 years until his retirement.  Wanting to keep busy, Glenn also became a Certified Inspector for carnival rides, which helped him keep busy in his spare time.  In the past, Glenn really enjoyed fishing, he also was an avid bridge player and was and enthusiastic Red Sox fan.  He was a loving husband and father who was loved by all for his sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife,  Helen Connor of Malden, his daughter, Stacey Connor of Stoneham, and his brothers-in-law, Edward Stanton and wife Ellen of Reading, John Stanton of Wakefield, and Robert Stanton and wife Barbara of Wakefield.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  Frederick and Ella (Hindle) Connor,  his brother Norman Connor, his sister-in-law Mary Soucy, and brother-in-law James Stanton.
