Cook, Sr.

Ronald L. Cook, Sr. of Brentwood, NH, formerly of Malden died
Wednesday, October 1, 2008 after a lengthy illness at his
daughter’s home in Brentwood, he was 65. Ronald was born on
August 2, 1943 in Los Angeles, CA and then raised in Ohio where
his parents were from. Immediately after high school, he
enlisted in the US Navy, serving on the USS Wasp (CVS-18
Recovery Ship). Upon completion of his service to our
country, Ronald met and married Marcia Lee Pottier, and the two
settled in the Malden area to raise their family. Ronald and
Marcia shared thirty-seven years together until Marcia’s passing
in 2003. Ronald took employment with TRW, Inc. in Cambridge.
He worked there as a machinist for many years until the company
relocated. Ron enjoyed the simple life and enjoyed spending
time watching the local Boston sports teams, especially the Red
Sox and Patriots. He was also an avid auto racing fan as well
as a drag racing fan.
Ronald is survived by his children, Ronald L. Cook Jr. of
Everett, Philip W. Cook and his wife Terrie of Saugus, James D.
Cook of Revere, and Julie L. Cook-Murtagh and her husband Paul
L. Murtagh Jr. of Brentwood, NH, and his step-daughter Melanie
Philbrook of Malden. His mother, Avanelle (Woods) Brandle of
Ohio, his siblings, Lawrence Cook of Ohio and Patricia Beianchi
of Ohio. Ronald is also survived by six grandchildren, Michael
McKinnon, Mackenzie, Sabrina “B.H.”, Paul III, Zack Murtagh and
Felicia Hughes.
Ronald was
preceded in death by his father Walter Cook.
A funeral service will be held in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule
Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Wednesday, October 8,
2008 at 11AM. Interment will be held privately.
Visitation
will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday October 7, 2008 from
4 to 8 PM.
In lieu of
flowers contributions in Ron’s memory maybe made to the Shiners
Hospital for Children, 51 Bloom St., Boston, MA 02114.
