  Auguste W. Czernetzky

Auguste W. Czernetzky (Verhasselt),  passed away quietly on April 9th.  Auguste was born in Germany in 1925, the daughter of Gottfreid and Adele Maria Verhasselt.  She was the loving wife of the late Georg  J. Czernetzky, and devoted mother of the late George Czernetzky and Adele Walsh.  

Auguste was a member of the Trinity German Church in Boston until its closing, at which time she became a member of St. Josephs Church in Malden.  Auguste was an avid swimmer and was once a lifeguard in Germany.  She also enjoyed bowling, and belonged to 2 different leagues at Town Line Bowling in Malden.  Besides being a full time wife and mother, she was a dressmaker by trade in her earlier days. 

She is survived by a son-in-law, Francis C. Walsh of Litchfield, NH, and his wife Linda Greene-Walsh, as well as 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by a sister Babal Hogekamp and her husband Ernst, as well as many nieces and nephews who still live in Germany. 

Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Thursday, April 15th, at 8AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josephs Church, Malden, at 9AM. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wed, April 14th, from 4 – 8 PM.
