Armando Victor D'Angelo

Armando "Victor" D'Angelo, 81, a  longtime resident of Malden, died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the Winchester Hospital.    Victor was born and raised in Italy.  He came to the US at the age of 16 and settled down in the Malden Area.  At the age of 19, he married his sweetheart, Anna DiBattista in a Mass in St. Theresa's in Everett, MA.  The two settled down in Malden to raise their family.  They shared over 62 years together.  Victor was a skilled mason, and had worked for the DJ Construction Company for almost 40 years until health issues forced his retirement in 1987.  At the time of his retirement, he was working as a foreman for the company.  He was also a member of the Bricklayers Local #3 of Boston for over 60 years.  Victor was also a longtime member of the Sons of Orsogna in Everett. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards.      

He is survived by his wife Anna,  his daughter Doreen  Mortellite and husband Charles of Malden, his daughter  Valerie Giacobbe  and husband Charles of Peabody, his son Victor  D'Angelo and wife Lisa of Wakefield, his sister  Elena Leonido of Dorchester, his brother  Nicolo D'Angelo of Everett, as well as 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Victor was preceded in death by his brother  John D'Angelo

Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Thurs, Sept 1, at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main Street, Malden, at 10AM. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.   Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wed, Aug 31st, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM.

Donations in Victor’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 350 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
