Marion Edna Dooley

Marion E. (Regan) Dooley, died Sunday afternoon  in the Aberjona Nursing Home, in Winchester surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer,  she was 64.  Marion was born in Malden, MA and was the daughter of the late Dennis F. & Doris L. (Chamberlain) Regan.

In the early sixties Marion met and later married her sweetheart Robert F. Dooley. The couple married on December 12, 1965 in St. Joseph’s Church and remained in Malden and raised their three children. Marion worked as a bookkeeper for Hunt Drug, Smyly Buick, and Kraft’s Foods in Woburn, for over seventeen years until her retirement in 2006. In her spare time Marion enjoyed the company of her loving family as well as knitting, quilting, golf, and dancing.  She was a member of the Saugus Elks Club. 

She is survived by her husband Robert F. Dooley of Melrose, her children, Robert V. Dooley and his wife Bonnie of Saugus, Christine M. Nesbit and her husband Timothy of Beverly and Stephen F. Dooley of Newbury.  Sister of Gerald F. Regan of Winchester.  Marion was the cherished grandmother of Michayla & Robert Dooley as well as many nieces, nephews,  great-nephews, and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Dennis F. & Doris L. (Chamberlain) Regan, her sister’s Marilyn E. Regan formerly of  Melrose & Lenora  M. Richard formerly of Malden and Joseph D. Regan formerly of Norwell.

Funeral  for Marion will be held  from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden,  on Wednesday., July 29, 2009  at  8:45AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church,  297 Main St., Malden, at 10AM..  Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to visiting hours in the Weir-Mac Cuish Funeral Home, Malden on Tuesday July 28, 2009  from    4- 8  PM.
