Barbara Claire Dow
Barbara Claire Dow, 84, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away at the Greenwood Nursing Home in Wakefield on Friday, October 15th. Barbara was born in Malden, where she was also raised and educated, attending Malden High School. After completing her education, She married her sweetheart, Donald I. Dow, and the two remained in Malden to raise their family. Barbara worked for many years in the Converse Shoe manufacturing plant in Malden. She later became a home health aide in the 1960's, finally retiring in 1984. She is survived by her son, Roger, and his wife Tammy Dow of Malden, her sister, Mary DiAvila , her grandchildren, Cheyenne and Paige Dow, as well as 1 niece and 4 nephews. Funeral services will be held from the Weir – MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home on Wed, Oct 20th, at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, Malden, at 10AM. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
