Beatrice Frances  Farnham

Beatrice Frances Farnham, 85, a longtime resident of Malden, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. Beatrice was born in Everett and moved to Malden at an early age. She graduated from Malden High with the class of 1941. A couple of years after high school, she enrolled in nursing school at Henry Hayward Hospital where she became a Registered Nurse. In 1951, Beatrice married her sweetheart, Arthur J. Farnham in St. Joseph's Church in Malden. The two soon bought a home on Willard Street where they raised their family. They shared nearly 40 years together until Arthur's passing in 1988. She worked at Malden Hospital for 30 years as a nurse and then moved on to be the nurse at the Malden Board of Health. Later she moved to the Winthrop Board of Health in the same role. After 17 years working for the town of Winthrop, she retired at the age of 83. As a pastime, Beatrice enjoyed reading, but truly what she loved was working and being a nurse. Mrs. Farnham lived in Malden for over 80 years.

She is survived by her children, Michael F. Farnham of Quincy, David A. Farnham of Reading, and Toni A. Reyes of Malden, as well as thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Farnham, her parents, Domenic and Jennie (DiBarthelomaio) Ricci, her son Richard V. Farnham, her brothers Alpine Ricci, Artillio "Freddie" Ricci, and Arthur Ricci, and her sister Verna Ceranna.
