Michael Fasulo

Angelo
Michael Fasulo, 90, a longtime resident of Malden, died Friday,
August 26th at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. He
was born February 7, 1921 in East Boston, Massachusetts the son
of Carmine and Emelia (Deltigo) Fasulo. Angelo was raised in
Boston's North End, where he attended Commerce High School.
Soon after high school, he was inducted into the US Army where
he helped our countries fight in WWII. He served as an
infantryman, and among other battles, participated in the
storming of Normandy Beach. Angelo was involved in many
other battles across Europe, and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He was discharged in
1945, and returned to Boston. In 1946, he married his
sweetheart, Florence J. Puopolo, in St. Mary's Church in
Boston. They settled down in the North End and began raising
their family. . In 1978, they moved their family to Malden,
where they have remained. Angelo and Florence shared over 65
years together. Angelo had worked for many years as a polisher
and buffer at Boston Plating, where gold and silver plating was
applied. He retired in 1982. He was a member of VFW Post #114
of Boston's North End. Angelo appreciated a quiet life, and in
his spare time he enjoyed reading
He is survived
by his wife Florence J. Fasulo, his children, Emily J. Barreiro
and her husband Matthew of Stoneham, Donna M. Fasulo of Revere,
Eileen J. Fasulo of Malden, and Mark R. Fasulo of Malden, MA,
as well as 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great
great grandchildren.
Angelo was
preceded in death by his parents, Carmine and Emelia Fasulo,
and his brother Anthony Fasulo
Funeral
services will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday, August
31, 2011 at 8:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at
9:00 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem St, Malden.
Entombment will be in the Holy Cross Mausoleum in Malden.
Visitation
will be at Weir - MacCuish Funeral Home on Tuesday, Aug 30th,
from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
