Margaret M. "Peg" Faulhefer

Margaret (Peg) Faulhefer

 

Margaret M. (Murray) Faulhefer, 81, of Malden, formerly of Medford, Somerville, and Ireland, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 in Merrimack, New Hampshire, with her family by her side.  Peg was born in1929 in Boston MA, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Larkin) Murray.  At a very early age she moved back to Ireland where her parents were originally from.  She completed her education there and then at the age of 18 came back to the US.  She settled down in the Boston area, living for a long time in Somerville, then in Medford before settling in Malden.  Peggy loved animals, especially cats.  She also loved the people she lived with on Salem St, in Malden, and enjoyed spending time with them and assisting them.  She was also an accomplished bowler, having won many tournaments over the years.  In 1975, she and Charles E. "Guy" Faulhefer were married.  They shared over 25 years together until his passing in 2001.  Peggy was the type of person who seemed to be loved by all who had the opportunity to meet her.      

Peggy worked in the food service industry for many years.  She worked at Beth Israel Hospital for much of her younger years, and later worked at Harvard University for a long time where she enjoyed watching the filming of "Spencer for Hire" which occurred while she was there.  She worked at Harvard until her retirement at the age of 60. 

She is survived by her sisters, Katherine Devine of Ireland, Ellen Lemieux of Windham, NH, Mary Meekin of England, and Annie Moran of Ireland, her nieces Donna Walles of Merrimack, NH, and Diane Cuddemi of Plymouth, her nephews, Daniel Wilson of Somerville, Dennis Wilson of Durham,NC, and David Wilson of Cambridge, as well as many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. “Guy” Faulhefer, and her brothers, Joseph Murray and Thomas Murray. 

Funeral from the Weir- MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home on Wed, February 9th, at 9AM  followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josephs Church, Malden, at 10AM.  Interment to be private. 

Visitation will be at Weir - MacCuish Funeral Home on Tuesday, Feb 8th,  from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
