Edith Esther Fish

 

 

     Edith E. (Person) Fish, of Malden, died Monday, July 27, 2009 at Kindred Hospital - Goddard in Stoughton, MA, she was 90. Born on October 7, 1918 in Chelsea. Edith was the daughter of the late Frederick & Minnie (Lambert) Person. Edith was educated in the Carter School and Chelsea High School.

     Edith lived in Malden for many years with her brothers. She worked for the Farrington Manufacturing Company of Needham, Transitron Electronics in Wakefield and the American Brush Company of Brockton as a press operator. She retired in the early 1990’s.

     Edith was a member of the Yellow Birds of Wakefield. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling and was an avid Red Sox fan. She always mentioned that she was born in the same year that the sox won the first World Series in 1918. Most of her later life she was the care giver for her many brothers.

     She is survived by her daughter, Virginia M. Lewis of Randolph, her loving sisters, Lillian Duffy of Malden, Mary Foley of E. Boston, Gertrude Sinclair of South Carolina, her grandchildren, Linda Martin, Lisa Crosby, Joseph Lewis, seven great-grand grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her brother’s Albert Person, Edward Person, Herbert Person, Warren Person, Kenneth Person, George Person, and Frederick Person.

     Funeral from the Weir~Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Thursday, July 30, 2009 . at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, 297 Main St, Malden at 10 AM. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

     Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to visiting hours in the Weir- Mac Cuish Funeral Home on Wed., July 29, 2009 from 4-8 PM..
