Robert Louis
Foley, 52, of Stoneham, passed away suddenly on Monday, March
2nd, 2009 in his home. Bob was born and raised in Malden, one
of four children. He attended the local schools and graduated
from Malden High School with the class of 1975. Shortly after
high school, Bob enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He served
honorable for 4 years and was discharged having earned the rank
of Sergeant in 1981. For over 15 years Bob has worked as a
mechanic for the Able Vending Company. He would travel around
to service and repair the company’s machines.
Bob was an
avid sports enthusiast. He began coaching little league
baseball when his boys were playing, and even continued coaching
after they grew up. He also served as President of the Central
League in Malden. He enjoyed playing golf, and was a skilled
pool player. He also liked to watch football. Bob was a member
of the Sons of Italy in Medford and a member of the Irish
American in Malden. To all who knew him, Bob was a loving
husband, father, and friend.
He is survived
by his wife, Judith M. (Wright) Foley of Stoneham, his sons,
Michael R. Foley of Lawrence, Mark R. Foley of CO, and Robert
E. Foley of Stoneham, his mother, Arleen Foley of Malden.
Robert was also knows as Papa to his grandson, Andrew Michael
Foley.
He was
preceded in death by his father Thomas Foley.
Funeral
services will be held Friday, March 6th, 11:00AM in
the Weir MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street,
Malden. Father Paul J. Aveni will be officiating. Visitation
will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 5th,
from 4 - 8 PM
