George C. Habeeb, Jr.., a lifelong
resident of Malden, passed away suddenly in his home on Jan 5th.
George was born in Stoneham, the son of George and Sally (Shultz)
Habeeb. He graduated from Malden High School in 1969. He
attended college after high school and shortly after took
employment at the GE plant in Lynn. He worked there for many
years until a disability forced his early retirement in 1983.
He was an active member of Club 24 in Malden, and a past member
of the East Side Athletic Association. George enjoyed taking
trips in Boston. He was a man who enjoyed
the simple pleasures in life, including spending time with his
dog Morgan.
George is survived by his daughters,
Jessica L. Gallo and her husband Jason D. of Peabody, Jillian E.
Habeeb and her fiancé Robert J. Giarla Jr. of Lynn, his father,
George C. Habeeb Sr. of Malden, his siblings, Gregory Habeeb of
Malden, Lynn A. Provitola of Malden, Nancy J. Breslin of
Wilmington, Barbara J. Worcester of Haverhill, and Robert M.
Habeeb of Peabody, and his grandchildren Skyla Gallo, Hayden
Gallo, Madison Giarla and Isabella Giarla. He is also
survived by his former wife, Gretchen (Berg) Habeeb.
He was preceeded in death by his mother,
Sally (Schultz) Habeeb.
A funeral service will be held in the
Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. MALDEN, on
Mon. Jan. 11th at 11 AM. Visitation will be held in
the funeral home on Sun. Jan. 10th from 4 to 8 PM.
