Franklin Otis
Hadley, 63, of Stoneham, formerly of Malden, passed away on
February 1, 2011 at his home in Stoneham, Massachusetts. He
was born August 5, 1947 in Somerville, Massachusetts the son of
Franklin O. and Evelyn (Caristo) Hadley. Frank was born in
Somerville and moved to Malden at an early age where he was
raised and educated. He graduated from Malden Vocation School
with the class of 1965. He then went on to Northeastern
University where he received a degree in Mechanical
Engineering. After receiving his degree, he went to work for
the Polaroid Corp, where he was for 18 years before moving on to
the Dynetics Corp in Woburn where he was a Vice President. He
stayed with Dynetics for 20 years. During the years, he became
a co-patent holder of a specialized automated deburring and
finishing system used by GE at their aircraft engine plant in
Wilmington, NC.
In 1980, Frank
and Nancy J. Hall were married in N. Reading. After a couple
years together, they settled down in Stoneham. Together they
opened a store in Wakefield called "Amish Connection" , a
specialty furniture and gift shop. For almost 10 years Frank
assisted Nancy with the store. Together they shared over 30
years together.
Growing up
Frank was an avid hockey player. He played for many years as
part of the practice squad for the Boston Bruins, getting to
practice players such as Phil Esposito. Although a knee injury
forced him to stop playing at that level, he never lost his love
of the game. He also was a passionate Patriots fan. In his
spare time he enjoyed fishing with his sons, and traveling with
his wife Nancy, especially to Wrightsville Beach in NC.
He is survived
by his wife Nancy J.(Hall), his mother, Evelyn (Caristo) Hadley
of CA, his sons, Michael Hadley of Pepperall, Paul Hadley of
Andover, James Hadley of FL, and Todd Hadley of Manchester,
his step-daughter Nannette Skelley of Wakefield, his brother
Dennis Hadley of CA, his grandchildren, Candace, Ashley,
Thomas, Mitchell, David, and Nicole, his nieces Samantha and Tamara,
and his nephew, Robbie Cummings.
Visitation
will be at Weir - MacCuish Funeral Home on Friday, Feb 4th,
from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral
services will be held Saturday, Feb 5th, 2011 at 1:00
PM at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem
Street, Malden. Interment to follow in Glenwood Cemetery,
Everett, MA.
