Louise R. Holmgren

Louise Regina
Holmgren, 97, a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away on
Thursday, January 6, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She
was born, 1913, the daughter of Theodore and Catherine
(McCarthy) Mongeau. Louise was raised and educated in Malden.
Soon after completing her education, she married her sweetheart,
Warren E. Holmgren, and the two settled down to raise their
family. Louise was a faithful, dedicated member of Sacred
Hearts Church in Malden. She was a member of the Damien Group
within the church, and was also active with the Women's Club and
many different prayer groups. Louise was a fun
loving person with a zest for life who enjoyed nature, gardening
and travel, however, her greatest pleasure in life came as her
role as a dedicated wife and mother.
She is
survived by her sons, Robert W. Holmgren and wife
Doreen of Freedom, NH, John
E. Holmgren and wife Dorothy of Wakefield, and Paul F. Holmgren and
wife Elizabeth of Hingham,
MA, as well as 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Louise was
preceded in death by her husband, Warren E. Holmgren, her
parents, Theodore and Catherine Mongeau, her brother Arthur
Mongeau; and her sister Eleanor Willis.
Funeral from
the Weir –MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home on Monday, Jan 10th,
at 9AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts
Church, 297 Main Street, Malden, at 10AM. Interment to follow
in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
