Cosimo P. Insalaco

Cosimo
P. Insalaco died at home in Sarasota, FL on Tuesday April 13,
2010 after a long illness, he was 89. Cosimo was born in East
Boston on January 29, 1921 the son of Salvatore and Catherine
(Salerno) Insalaco.
When
Cosimo and Mary were married they resided in East Boston until
1980 when they moved to Malden. They resided in Malden for the
next twenty-two years until Mary’s passing in December of 2002.
Cosimo later moved to Sarasota, FL
Cosimo
was educated in the Revere School System and was a graduate of
the Class of 1939. In 1942 Cosimo joined the U.S. Navy and
served his country until June of 1945. He was discharged as a
Machinist‘s Mate First Class. After the war Cosimo was employed
in the South Boston Ship Yard for the next 30 years and retired
in 1972. He later took employment with the East Boston Savings
Banks, Maintenance Department for the next eleven years and
retired at age 65. He was a member of the Italian American World
War II Veterans Club of Malden.
He was the devoted father of Salvatore P. Insalaco of
Sarasota, FL, Joseph Insalaco of Osprey, FL & Karen F. Rowe
of Stoneham, and the loving brother of Lewis Insalaco of
Revere, Kathleen Ciano of FL. Cosimo was the cherished
grandfather of seven grandchildren & seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary P. (Viola)
Insalaco, who passed on December 31, 2002, his siblings,
Salvatore Insalaco Jr. formerly of Dania, FL, his sister’s
Caroline Jones formerly of Salem, NH and Phyllis Imprescia
formerly of Revere.
Funeral will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral
Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 8
AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's
Church, 770 Salem St., Malden at 9 AM. Interment to follow
in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Visitation will be
held in the Weir – Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home on Monday,
April 19, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
