Phyllis Mae Jensen
Phyllis M. (Drake) Jensen of Malden, died Monday, January 19, 2009 at her home, she was 78. Born on March 5, 1930 in Saugus, she was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Bessie (McLaughlin) Drake. Phyllis was raised and educated in Malden. After school, she was employed with the Vogue Doll Factory, once of Malden, until she retired to care for her two daughters. A woman of simple wishes, Phyllis’ true passion in life was to always be there for her family. Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Shirley A. and her husband, William Newell of Medford and Cherie and her husband, John Pellegrini of Derry, NH, her sisters, Shirley Smith and Beatrice DePetris, her grandchildren, Cayla and Michael Pellegrini of Derry, NH and Mackenzie and Devin Newell of Medford as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Drake, Jr., and Douglas Drake. A funeral service for Phyllis will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 11 AM in the North Prospect Union United Church of Christ, 144 North Street, Medford, MA. An interment service will be held privately. Visitation will be held in the Weir- MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 from 4 to 8 PM.
