Elizabeth Keats

Joyce E. “MA” (Sanborn) Keats, died suddenly, Sunday morning
January 31, 2010, in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston,
she was 66.
“MA”
was born in Melrose, MA on March 3, 1943 the daughter of Wilbur
A. & Stella E. (Green) Sanborn. Joyce was educated in the
Malden Schools and was a graduate with the Class of 1961. She
was a life long resident of Malden. During high school she met
her true love, John V. Keats Jr., they were high school
sweethearts. The couple married the following fall in
Manchester, NH on September 9, 1962. They lived in Everett for a
short time and later settled in Malden and raised a family.
They have six children, three girls and three boys.
Joyce’s
family was her life; always caring for her children and taking
care of their needs. When her children grew up and had their own
children, Joyce & John helped and cared for their fourteen
grandchildren. There is Bobby, Amanda, Richie, Chris, Erik,
Adam, Kyle, Megan, Scottie, Krysta, John, Audree, Alex & Olivia
their first set of twins.
Joyce
enjoyed anytime she could with her grandchildren, whether it was
time spent out in the family garden, cooking, or playing games, it was time she cherished with the kids. Joyce & John shared 44 years together until John’s
passing in April of 2005.
Joyce
is survived by her children, Elizabeth J. Olson of Derry, NH,
Christina M. Carleton of Malden, Jacquelyn A. Lund of
Plaistow, NH, John V. Keats, III of Saugus, Bryan S. Keats of
Malden and Scott M. Keats of TN. She was the loving sister of
Kevin “Buddy” Sanborn of Ohio.
She was predeceased by her
loving husband John V. “Bumpa” Keats Jr. and her brother Wayne
Sanborn formerly of Florida.
Friends and relatives are
invited to visiting hours at the Weir Funeral Home on Wednesday,
February 3, 2010 from 4-8 PM.

of flowers the family has requested donations in Joyce’s memory
be made to the American Hearts Association, 20 Speen St.,
Framingham, MA 01701-4688 or call 1-800-242-8721 to make
donations.
Funeral
service will be held in the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral
Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 11
AM. Cremation will follow in Woodlawn Crematory, Everett.
