Owen
Nathaniel Knight

Owen Nathaniel Knight, son of the late
Joseph and Louise Knight, died Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at
his life-long residence in Everett, MA.
After graduating
Everett High School, Owen enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he
served honorably during World War II. He earned a degree in
Advertising Design at the New England School of Art, before
taking employment at Gaulin Corp. in Everett, where he worked
for 40 years.
Owen was a fine
cook, artist, raconteur and world traveler, whose frequent rips
brought him to Europe, Las Vegas, New York and the Caribbean,
most often Barbados. His passion for skiing led him to some of
the world’s finest mountains as a member of Boston’s premier
black ski club, the Snow Rovers.
The Knight family
was blessed to have Uncle Owen in their lives. He was unique:
his warmth and graciousness, his elegance and style, his love of
life and laughter, food and art, his hospitality, legendary
holiday parties, and gift of storytelling, but most of all, his
compassion and friendship will be missed by generations of
families and friends – from the Boston area to the Black Forest
of Germany.
He was preceded in
death by his sister, Edna, his brother Grantlin, his sister
Delacy, his brother Irving and his brother Frank. He is
survived by his older sister, Thelma Massey of Malden and by
dozens of nieces and nephews, and a host of friends, too many to
count.
God bless you, Uncle Owen. We love you.
Funeral
service for Mr. Knight will be held privately.
