Olympia M. La Fauci

Olympia M.
La Fauci, 82, a longtime resident of Malden, died Sunday,
January 17, 2010 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in
Boston. Olympia was born in 1927, the daughter of
Salvatore and Conchetta (Condelli) DiMare. While growing
up she was educated in Boston Latin Academy. On Sept 7, 1947,
she and her sweetheart, Guy A. La Fauci were married. They soon
settled down in Malden to raise their eight children. Though
raising the children took most of her time, she also found time
to help at the family’s fruit and vegetable market, A.LaFauci &
Sons, in Boston. She became a dedicated member of St. Josephs
Church in Malden, where she was active with the Catholic
Daughters of St. Joseph. She was fond of creating ceramics,
and also enjoyed spending time with the family at their camp in
Salem, NH.
She is
survived by her husband Guy A. LaFauci of Malden, her children,
Josephine “Jaye” Davie and husband Evan of Malden, Salvatore
La Fauci and wife Diane of Salem, NH, Anthony LaFauci of
Salem, NH, Dennis La Fauci and wife Lori of Malden, MA, Kenny La
Fauci and wife Lynne of Topsfield, Jane Kozowyk and husband
Richard of Revere, Stephen La Fauci and wife Anita of Malden,
and Gary La Fauci and wife Felicia of Middleton, , her sister,
Marie Camuso of Malden, and her sister-in-law, Katherine La
Fauci of Malden, MA., her grandchildren, Scott, Evan, Jimmy,
Darlene, Sal, Ann Marie, Janine, Dennis, Gina, Kenny, Nicole,
Guy, Joseph, Michael, Amanda, Cristina, Stephen, Joshua, and
Aaron, and her great grandchildren, Sara, James, Alexa, Nicholas,
Francesca, and Aine.
In addition to her parents, Olympia was
preceded in death by her sister, Frances Amara and her brother,
James DiMare.
Funeral
services will be held from the Weir MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral
Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Thurday, Jan 21st,
at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's
Church, Malden, at 10 AM. Interment to follow in Woodlawn
Cemetery, Everett.
Visitation
will be at Weir - Mac Cuish Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan 20th,
from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM
