Anna
Lamattina, 96, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on
Saturday, July 9 at her home with her loving family by her
side. She was born November 18, 1914 in Boston, Massachusetts
the daughter of Biagio and Adlina (Del Monci) Izzicupo. She was
raised and educated in Boston. On July 4th of 1931, Anna
married her sweetheart, Angelo Lamattina and the two shared
nearly 50 years together until Angelo's passing in 1980. They
settled down together in Boston's North End to raise their
family. In 1953, the family moved to Malden where they have
resided since. They became members of St. Josephs Church in
Malden and Anna was faithful and dedicated member. For many
years she sang with the Church choir. Soon after moving to
Malden, Anna began working at Malden Mills as a seamstress. She
worked there until 1979, when she retired. She enjoyed knitting
and crocheting, and had a passion for baking. Her greatest
focus was her family, she dedicated her effort and love to her
parents, siblings, children, grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
She is
survived by her daughters Phyllis M. Pasquale of Malden, and
Jean P Marfoli and husband Louis, 5 grandchildren, 11
grandchildren, and her sister-in-law Angline Izzicupo of
Malden.
Anna was
preceded in death by her husband Angelo, her parents, Biagio
and Adlina Izzicupo; her brothers Tony Izzicupo and Daniel
Izzicupo and wife Lucey; her sisters Mary Doumani and husband
George, Florence Miribella and husband John, and Jean Cormier.
Visitation
will be at Weir - MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street,
Malden, on Thurs, July 14th, from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
Funeral
services will be held from the Weir Funeral Home on Friday, July
15th at 9:00 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial
in St. Joseph's Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will be follow in
St. Michael's Cemetery in Boston.
