John “Ross” MacDonald

John
“Ross” MacDonald, of Hudson NH, formerly a longtime resident of
Malden, passed away on Tuesday, Oct 4th, with his
loving family by his side. Ross was born in Boston in 1922, the
son of Aubrey H. and Matilda (Ross) MacDonald. He was raised
and educated in Malden. Like many of his day, he left school
early to enlist and help our countries fight in WWII. He was
discharged in 1945. He continued his education at Suffolk
University where he received his Paralegal degree, and also
attended art school in Boston here he received his degree in
fine arts. For most of his life he worked as a commercial
artist. He was known for is architectural renderings, and
became famous for painting an aerial view of Cape Cod that he
sold copies of for over 50 years. In 1955, he married his
sweetheart, Marilyn L. Forsberg, and the two settled down in
Malden to raise their family. They moved from Malden to Hudson,
NH, in 1997. Ross and Marilyn shared over 55 years together.
Ross had a great fondness for Real Estate,
and would always pay attention to current values and
regulations. He was also active in the art field, and
especially enjoyed working in watercolor. In addition, he was a
past member of the Mount Vernon Galilean Masonic Lodge in
Malden.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn L.
(Forsberg) MacDonald, his daughters, Karin M. Round and her
husband, William H. of Lynnfield, and Lynne E. Brenner and her
husband Allen of Miami, FI, His Brother, Donald H. MacDonald of
Danvers, his sister Marie A. Lantz of FL, and his grandchildren,
David A. Brenner, Lisa K. Brenner, Sarah M. Round and Ross W.
Round.
Ross was preceded in death by his parents,
Aubrey and Matilda MacDonald, and his sister, Jeanne Kashtan.
Funeral services will be held for Ross on
Tues, Oct 11th, at 10AM in the First Lutheran Church
of Malden, 62 Church Street, Malden. Pastors Angela Freeman and
Shawn Palmer will be officiating. Interment to follow in
Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
Visitation will be held at the Weir
–MacCuish Golden Rule, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Monday, Oct
10th, from 4 – 8 PM.
