Bruce John Mann
Bruce
John Mann, 70, of Stoneham, formerly of Malden, passed
wasy on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the
Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. He was born in March of
1941 in Everett, the son of Trueman and Jane (Mitchell)
Mann . Bruce was raised and educated in Malden,
graduating from Malden High School with the Class of
1959. After high school, he served our country by
joining the National Guard. In July of 1965, he married
his sweetheart, Anna Grover, in Malden. The two settled
down in Malden raise their family. Soon Bruce opened
his store, Mann's Garden Center at Broadway Plaza in
Malden. He enjoyed his business and would even grow his
own Christmas trees. Bruce, with the help of his wife,
has run the garden center for the past 33 years.
He had
been a coach for Malden Little league in years past, and
was also once active with different bowling leagues and
a rifle league in Malden. He enjoyed hunting and
fishing, and was a classic car enthusiast. He had been
a member the Chrome Roamers and the North Shore Old Car
Club.
He is
survived by his wife Anna (Grover) Mann, his daughter,
Jane A. Mann of Stoneham, , and Thomas Mann and wife
Elsie of Malden, and Trueman Mann Jr. and wife Donna
of Malden, his granddaughters, Brianna, Brittany, and
Brooke, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bruce
was preceded in death by his parents, Trueman B.Sr. and
Jane Mann.
Funeral services for Bruce will be held in the
Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St,
Malden, on Wednesday, Nov 9th, at 10AM.
Interment will be private.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tue, Nov
8th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
