John D. McKay
John Daniel
McKay, 82, a machinery mechanic for Teddy Peanut Butter, where
he worked for many years, died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at
Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, with his loving wife by
his side.
John was born
February 21, 1928 in Melrose, Massachusetts the son of John B.
and Hannah E. (McDonald) McKay. John was born and raised in
Melrose, MA. After graduating from Melrose High School, John
attended Bentley College. John became a machinery mechanic and
eventually took employment with the Teddy Peanut Butter Company
in Everett. He worked there until his retirement in 1998. In
1973, John married his sweetheart, Virginia A. Leith, in the
Highland Congregational Church in Boston. The two shared almost
40 years together until his passing. John was a simple man, who
enjoyed being at home, spending time with Virginia.
He is survived
by his wife Virginia A (Leith) McKay, and his daughter,
Rosemarie McKay of Littleton, MA. John was preceded in death
by his parents, John B. and Hannah E. (McDonald) McKay.
Funeral
services will be private.
