Maude Doris
McNeil, 99, a longtime former resident of Malden, passed away
on Friday, June 11, 2010, with her loving family by her side.
Maude was born November 19, 1910 in Freedom, New York the
daughter of John and Bertha (Buchholtz) Raszman. After high
school, she began working as a cashier in a restaurant where she
met and fell in love with James McNeil, who was the manager of
the establishment. The two were married in 1929, and first
settled outside Buffalo, NY. They moved to Connecticut for a
while before relocating and settling in Malden, Ma to raise
their family. For 20 years, Maude worked as a salesperson in
RH Sterns Department store in Boston, retiring in 1976. In
1998, Maude moved from Malden to Sandwich, to be closer to her
daughter. Maude was a true home maker, enjoying decorating the
home, and she was especially skilled at arranging floral
displays, both with real and artificial flowers.
Funeral
services will be held Tuesday, June 15th, 2010 at
11:00 AM in the Weir –MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144
Salem Street, Malden, with a period of visitation beginning at
10AM. Burial will follow in the Morrison Cemetery in Deerfield,
NH.
