Florence K. Middleton Florence Katherine (Carrol) Middleton, 87, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford, Massachusetts. Florence was born in December of 1923 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. At a very early age she moved to Watertown where she was raised and educated. In 1951, she married her sweetheart, Walter F. Middleton, and the two spent time in Cambridge and Medford before settling down in Malden to raise their family. Florence and Walter shared over 30 years together until his passing in 1984. Over the years, Florence worked for many different manufacturing plants, including time spent working for the Schraffs Candy Company, Dunkin Donuts, and Automatic Radio. She retired in 1984. She was a past member of the German Club of Malden. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her son John D. Middleton of Malden, her daughter, Diane Middleton Crouse of Quincy, her step-son, James F. Middleton of Milton, her grandchildren, Jay Middleton, Maura Middleton, Patrick Middleton, Katelyn Guimaraes, and Michael Crouse, and her great-grandchildren, James Middleton, Christopher Middleton, Sophie Middleton, and Andrew Guimaraes. Florence was preceded in death by her husband Walter F. Middleton, and her mother Annie (Clark) Carrol Visitation will be at Weir - MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 23rd, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. Donations in Florence's memory may be made to the Bread of Life, 511 Main Street, Malden, MA 02148.
