Earl W. Olson
Earl
W. Olson, a tool and die maker for Anderson Power Products,
where he worked for almost 50 years, passed away at the Blaire
House in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, he was 88.
He was born
in Medford, MA, the son of Iver and Priscilla (Carlson) Olson
in 1923. After high school, Earl began working for Anderson
Power Products in S. Boston. He left his job to enlist in the
US Army Air Corps to help our countries fight in WWII. He served 3 years
overseas and was discharged honorably having earned the rank of
Corporal. Upon his return he resumed his job with Anderson
Power Products, and bought a house in Malden. He worked as a
tool and die maker with the company in both South Boston and in
Brighton after the company had moved to that location. Earl
retired at the age of 65.
Earl was an
avid Boston Sports fan. He was a past season ticket holder for
many year with the Boston Bruins where he was a member of the
"Gallery Gods". He was also a past season ticket holder for the
New England Patriots. In addition, he was a serious long time
fan of the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed "big band" music, and
listening to Frank Sinatra. Mostly though, Earl was dedicated
to his family, always there for his mother after his father had
passed away early, and was a loving and caring uncle to his
nephew Warren especially after Warren lost his father at an
early age.
He is survived
by many nieces and nephews.
Earl was
preceded in death by his parents, Iver and Priscilla Olson;
his 2 brothers, Kenneth Olson, his Warren Olson; and his 2
sisters, Mildred Gustafson and Gladys Olson.
Funeral
arrangements will be private.
