Phyllis Perrigo

 

Phyllis  Perrigo, 91, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on  Sunday, November 13, 2011 at the Woodbriar Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington.    She was born January 30, 1920 in Malden,  the daughter of Herbert and Annie (Conley) Ford. Phyllis was raised in Malden.  She graduated from Malden High School at age 16 with the class of 1936.  She then attended Malden Business School, graduating there in 1938.  Phyllis worked at the Malden Co-op Bank, first starting as a teller, and retiring at age 65 as a manager. 

She was a long time dedicated member of The First Church of Malden, Congregational.  She was very active at the church and spent a lot of time there. She also served as the Director of Religious Education for 5 years.    In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting.      

She is survived by her children, David M. Perrigo of Malden, Jeanne  E. Connell of Wilmington,  and Capt. Douglas F. Perrigo of Tewksbury, , as well as8grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents,  Herbert and Annie Ford, and her sisters, Evelyn J. Ford and Margarite Cavanaugh. 

Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Wednesday, Nov 16th, from 4 - 8 PM. 

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thurs, Nov. 17th, at 12 Noon.  Interment to follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
