Diane Marie
Rivers, 69, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on
Sunday, November 20th, at her home, with her family
by her side. She was born October 10, 1942 in Everett,
Massachusetts the daughter of Guido and Catherine (Lynch)
Rigolini. Diane was raised and educated in Everett. She
graduated from St. Rose with the Class of 1960. In 1964 she and
her sweetheart, Robert Rivers, were married in the Immaculate
Conception Church of Everett. They settled down in Malden to
raise their family. Diane helped her husband run their
business, the Bo-Jac Construction Company for 46 years. She
also had her real estate license and worked as a Real Estate
Broker. Together they shared nearly 50 years, until Bob’s
passing less than a month ago.
Diane also
operated her own internet business, "Angels Over Boston". In
addition, she sold arts and crafts at shows and fairs around New
England. Diane was a long time active member of the Jr. Aide
Society of Malden. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her
flowers, although her greatest joy was taking care of her
family.
She is
survived by her children, Robert J. Rivers Jr. and his wife
Kris of Wakefield, Pamela B. Cogliano and her husband Sal of
Malden, and Timothy D. Rivers and his wife Jill of Malden, her
brother, Frank Rigolini and his wife Suzanne of Everett, and her
wonderful grandchildren, Valerie, Andrew, Alex, Timmy, Ryan,
Jackson, Nicole, and Joseph and her family, Joan Chuha and
husband Steve of Stoneham, Thomas Rivers and wife Anne of
Malden, John “Jack” Rivers and wife Mary Rose of Malden, J.
Charles Rivers and wife Lois of Wakefield, Bruce Rivers and wife
Gail of Malden, Vera Rivers and husband Charles Deradourian of
Malden, Linda Burdick and the late Douglas Burdick of Malden,
the late Dawn Prestone and husband Dominic of Saugus and many
nieces and nephews.
Diane was
preceded in death by her husband Bob, and her parents, Guido
and Catherine Rigolini.
Funeral
services will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 10:00 AM at
the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St,
Malden. Interment to follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park,
Peabody.
