Teixeira

Alice (Baptista) Teixeira, of Malden, died May 24, 2010 at the
Blaire House of Tewksbury after a long illness. Alice was born
on December 30, 1922 in Woonsocket, RI, the daughter of the late
Peter & Virginia (Tinel) Baptista, she was 87. Alice was
raised and educated in Boston. After her graduation she went on
to business school.
Alice started her working career at the Boston Navel Ship Yard
in Boston as a clerk during World War II. . She later took
employment with the John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston as
a supervisor for
twenty years and later worked at the Bank of America as a
clerk until her retirement in 2008.
In her spare time Alice enjoyed trips with friends to Foxwoods.
Alice was a giving and loving grandmother to her grandchildren,
Lauren & Christopher. She was a longtime faithful member of the
Sacred Hearts Church in Malden.
She is survived by her son, Ralph Teixeira Jr. and his wife Judy
of Tewksbury, her cherished grandchildren, Lauren and
Christopher Teixeira both of Tewksbury, her loving siblings
Joan Aroujo of Peabody, Adeline Baptista
of Malden, Anna Correia of Pepperell, Elizabeth Grenier of Methuen,
Caroline Maloof of Malden, Julia Santos of W. Peabody.
Alice is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her father Peter Baptista; her
mother Virginia (Tinel) Baptista; her two brother’s Arthur
Baptista formerly of Malden and John Baptista formerly of
Cambridge, her sister Mary Sena formerly of Malden.
Friends and relatives are invited to visiting hours at the Weir-
Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on
Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 4-8 PM Contributions in Alice’s
memory may be made to the Alzheimer Association, Mass Chapter,
311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
Alice's funeral will be held from the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule
Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 9
AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts
Church, 297 Main St., Malden at 10 AM.
Interment to follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
