Clifford Herbert Webster Jr.

Clifford Herbert Webster,  78, a longtime resident of Malden , died Friday, Nov 6th, 2009 at the Kindred Hospital- Boston Northshore in Peabody.  Cliff was born and raised in Rhode Island.   Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the US Navy, where he served honorably during the Korean Conflict.  While in the navy he became an electronics technician, and was introduced to what would become his lifelong career.  After his discharge, he attended LaSalle College, and then went to Babson College where he received his masters in electrical engineering.  He worked as an electrical engineer for many companies, including RCA, and Honeywell, before retiring from GE in 1990. 

In 1976, Clifford married Cora A. Powers, and the two settled down in Malden.  They shared over 30 years of marriage together.  Clifford enjoyed boating and salt water fishing, vacationing at the family beach house in Matunuck, RI.  He also was fond of watching college basketball. 

He is survived by his wife Cora A (Powers) Webster of Malden, his daughters,  Karen Manning  of Medfield, Lynne Webster  of Rockland, Joanne Lowe of Abington, Tracy White of Plymouth,  Janet Panepinto  of Plymouth, and  Nancy Russo of Weymouth, his sisters, Margaret Cooney, Lynne Holland, and  Maryanne Torgan, all of  RI, his brother,  David Webster  of MD, as well as 11 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, and 1 great-step-grandchild. 

He was preceded in death by his parents,  Clifford H Sr. and Eleanor (Riley)  Webster, and his daughter Carol Marsh.

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden,  on Monday, Nov. 9th,  from 4-8 PM

Contributions in Cliff’s memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105  194 

Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at  9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in  Sacred Hearts Church at 10AM.  . Fr. Daniel J. Hickey of Sacred Hearts Church will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
