Arthur H. Woodland
Arthur H. Woodland of Melrose, formerly of Stoneham & Malden,
died Tuesday afternoon January 5th, 2010 in the
Melrose Wakefield Hospital, he was 73. Arthur was born August
30, 1936 in Malden, the son of the late Charles J. & Elva A.
(Crowell) Woodland, Sr.
Arthur was educated in the Malden school system and was a
graduate of the Malden Vocational School Class of 1954. He was
a Mason with the Converse Lodge AF & AM, Malden, The Tabernacle
Chapter, of Malden, Beauseant –
Palestine Commandery # 41, the
Aleppo Temple,
Wilmington, and Malden Square & Compass Club. Arthur was a member
of the Army National Guards, 182nd Infantry
Association, in
Malden and a member of the Am Vets of MA.
Mr. Woodland worked as a laborer for the Nevlen Company Inc. of
Wakefield, where he manufactured and installed service vehicle
equipment for van conversions for fifteen years until his
retirement. Arthur was an avid bowler. He enjoyed his time
spent with the Masonic Lodge Bowling League and the First
Baptist Church Bowling League. He had been a resident of
Stoneham for thirty-seven years and had lived in Melrose for the
last six years.
Arthur is survived by his brother, Charles J. Woodland, Jr. and
his wife June of Plaistow, NH, his cherished nieces, Nancy
Belisaro and her husband Soloman of Washington State, Dianne
Sherman and her husband Gary & Sandra Tomasi and her husband Ed,
all of Atkinson, NH. He was the great- uncle of seven grand
nieces and nephews.

Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden, on Friday, January 8,
2010 from 4-8 PM.
Arthur’s funeral services will be held in the Weir-Mac Cuish
Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Saturday,
January 9, 2010 at 11 AM. The Rev. Martha A Dominy of the First
Baptist Church, Malden will officiate. Interment to
follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody
